Magic Winter Soccer Futsal is the original indoor soccer. Futsal is derived from three words Futebol de Salão which means Court Soccer. Futsal is played with only 5 players (4 players and 1 goalkeeper). Futsal was designed to improve many aspects of soccer.
The playing field is smaller therefore precise passing is demanded in Futsal. Futsal is played on a court the size of a basketball court. Futsal is not played with walls therefore requiring greater agility and skill to get past your opponent. Passing is essential in the game; passes must be quick and precise due to the small amount of space on the court.
The skill developed in this game is visible in the world-famous style the Brazilians display outdoors on the full-sized field. Pelé, Zico, Socrates, Bebeto, Robinho, Ronaldinho and other Brazilian superstars developed their skill playing Futsal. While Brazil continues to be the Futsal hub of the world, the game is now played, under the auspices of FIFA, all over the world, from Europe to North and Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Africa, and Asia and Oceania.
Futsal is played with a size 4 ball specially designed for Futsal. A Futsal ball is made with a double bladder which makes it heavier and reduces bounce by 30 – 40%. The ball remains on the ground instead of the air creating a fast paced game. Players must adapt quickly to the fast pace and small court as they will spend as much time defending as they do attacking.
Ultimately, Futsal has managed to package a great time along with skill development – all in
one.
Futsal is played with heart, honor, joy, spirit and teamwork
